How long does a jewelry appraisal take?
In most cases, appraisals take only a few days. We have an independent appraiser that will come to our store as needed.
I have a lot of pieces that are very valuable. Can I wait while you appraise it?
Yes. Our appraiser can set up meeting with you at our store and she will take all the necessary measurements, photos etc while you wait and then finish the paperwork a little later. This service will be charged at an hourly while-you-wait rate and will be subject to the appraisers availability.
I would like to sell my jewelry. Do I need an appraisal?
Not necessarily. A traditional insurance appraisal is meant to pay for replacing the item, in case it gets lost or stolen. A fair market appraisal is a good idea, if you have no idea on what your items is worth for selling it privately or if you need them appraised for dividing an estate after someone passed away.
You don't need an appraisal for selling your jewelry or diamonds to a jewelry store as the value is calculated more as a scrap value for materials only.
